We currently have to deliver the reconstruction to our client in local coordinate system as well as in British national grid as different teams within the organisation use the data for different purposes.
So we currently have to process the model in BNG and export it out, transform it in third party such as scc or AutoCAD etc. before we can deliverer both models. the only way we can do this in Bentley is if we submit a new AT and reconstruction. Which for the size of projects we do, could take weeks of extra processing.
We have a standard transformation from BNG to a local coordinate system for each site within SCC. this has been completed as there is a Total station network within the site to create a local coordinate system. then survey the nails with an GNSS receiver meaning we have the same points in local and BNG. then we can just do a simple transform.
would be nice if we could give bentley the BNG and Local points and it creates a transform then we could select the local coordinate system on export and so don't have to reprocess the data or import then export in other software.
Which format you use for delivery? It is possible to edit the offsets in 3MX or 3SM.
