Why is it useful: Currently, the standard x64 package cannot run natively on ARM architectures. Relying on x64 emulation creates significant performance bottlenecks for both the CPU and GPU during intensive reality modeling tasks, such as photogrammetry and point cloud generation workflows. Since NVIDIA already provides full, native CUDA support for ARM64 environments, an ARM-compiled version of the Engine would eliminate emulation overhead and maximize processing efficiency.
Who would benefit from it: Enterprise users and channel partners who are upgrading their processing pipelines to modern, high-performance ARM-based hardware. This specifically includes users transitioning to processing nodes based on the NVIDIA Stark platform, equipped with NVIDIA G10 Blackwell GPUs and multi-core ARM Cortex processors.
How should it work: We request that Bentley compiles and releases a native ARM64 version of the iTwin Capture Engine for Linux alongside the existing x64 release.
