The issue was mainly caused by the fact that, while using an iModel together with an uploaded set of reality models, the user unintentionally triggered some form of preview or grace-period license. However, they were not informed that such a license had been activated. Furthermore, they were not notified about the expiration of the product or service. Instead, only received a brief error notification while attempting to upload files.

In such cases, please consider:

• Informing both the user and the administrator that a temporary or preview license is about to be activated,

• Providing the exact name of the service, the duration of availability, and a link to the online service description to better understand its functionality and pricing,

• Informing users about the upcoming end of the grace period,

• Clearly indicating the cause of the upload error, including the exact product and license that expired and caused the issue,

• Indicating graphically in the admin panel which licenses or products are close to expiration.

These improvements could generally enhance control over service usage and may help reduce the number of support issues reported by Bentley users.
